My mission is to survive in the Arctic without getting bitten by a bear

Born and grown up just outside Seoul, South Korea and now live in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Québec, Canada. I am a liberal and open-minded backpacker. I travelled around Africa, Asia, and Europe for six months in 2011. In winter 2013, I went to the Nordic countries to volunteer at WWOOF farms. For the last two years I went Alaska to study wildlife biology. Currently I am spending my third year of university in Canada as an exchange student.

I believe that experience is the only indivisible reality that itself constitutes one's life. I am what I experience. Living in the moment of joy -- no matter how short it is -- is the most fulfilling thing that I can do. Thus I constantly travel to find those moments.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I travel just because I can. I don't know what I am looking for nor expecting. Sometimes I disappear into the woods and other times I crash at strangers'. Looking back, however, my journey has been dotted with the people I met along.

So far, I have a week of couchsurfing experience in Québec City, Canada. I had an amazing Christmas with my host, his roommate, their friends, and many other travellers that I met through Couchsurfing. Now I ask myself why I had not tried couchsurfing before. I would say it is one of the best ways to travel. I hope you too make great memories as you tread upon this wonderful planet.

兴趣

Hiking is arguably my number one interest. I have done multi-day hikes up to ten days in Alaska. I also like to absentmindedly wander around the city, spend hours at a cafe, and have relaxed conversation with friends. I know it sounds just like any other person, but I enjoy both rural and urban lives.

Plus, I don't bring up politics a lot in general, but if you are into ecological politics, ethics, or movements, you have found the right person!

I volunteered at a horse farm in the Norwegian Arctic in winter. It was arguably the most magical experience I have had and has made me fall in love with the northern climate.
