ABOUT ME

I am somebody who has been through a wide range of life experiences, and I enjoy learning about others experiences. There is real value in these conversations and we all learn a bit more about the world by engaging others and understanding their perspectives. I also like good whiskey, cigars and wine. Books, watching basketball, and other normal human behaviours.

I love reading, writing poetry, cooking and of course i enjoy drinking my whiskey, cigars and wine with good company. I also love going out and getting lost.

Favourite books are Orientalism, The Autobiography of Malcolm X, Love in the Time of Cholera, The Blind Owl by Sadegh Hedayat, The Prophet by Khalil Gibran and Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie. Murakami is cool. So is anything history related. Stoicism literature.

Music is music. I can appreciate good music. My tastes change over time, but I will always appreciate good music.

Movies are subjective to how I feel.

Learning to love. Also befriending local Cubans, going crab fishing, drink rum out of coconuts with them and spending the night having crab soup on the beach with them was cool. Paris when it rains. Breaking down Tupac with Turks sitting by the Bosphorus Strait. Teaching in France. Sleeping on a mountain in Iraqi Kurdistan. Playing backgammon till the sun rose in St. Tropez. Spending time with family and friends.
