About Me

Hey!

I am an Italian Language & Literature student currently studying at Istanbul University in Istanbul, Turkey. Apart from literature, reading and learning new languages & cultures, I am fond of sports! I love playing basketball and table tennis very much. Even though I also like ice hockey and football, I am probably the worst guy when it comes to be on the field as a player.

I also enjoy listening to music - I am really just your typical guy, eh? My favorite is those industrial, electronic kind of music. EBM, darkwave, synth-pop, goth rock and so on... But I am not a metalhead or such, as long as I think it poses musical value, I enjoy all kind of stuff.

My biggest and probably life-draining hobby is DotA 2. I like playing that game and also watching the professional scene. You could say that I REALLY LOVE competitive and challenging things - where there is a match & game to be played, there is Emre.

I would like to "get out of my cave" and meet new people while seeing new places. Even though I had no chance to do this so far, I want it to happen as soon as possible. I won't pose like a very positive or energetic dude; I am kinda quiet and shy when I first people but as time passes, I think it's fun to be around me.

If you want me to talk just tell something about sports, then you will beg your God to shut me up after awhile! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, that's a very classical sentence but yes, meeting new people and seeing new places. As I am student living in a dorm kind of house, I am sadly unable to host people. But when the time comes, I would be very happy to do it too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies & Series: Unsere Mütter Unsere Väter, Das Boot, Der Untergang, La Vita E Bella, Spartacus, Breaking Bad, Ladri di Biciclette, Two And a Half Men, Game of Thrones, Ondskan, Ben X, Klass, Amores Perros

Books: I am kind of a "classical" guy. English, Russian, Italian, German literature of 17-20th century is my favorite. So many books I can count. But my favorite, "heart-breaking" author is Cesare Pavese and surely, his novels and poems.

Music: Oomph, Rammstein, Stahlfrequenz, Blutengel, Nitzer Ebb, Eisenfunk, Two Steps From Hell, The Crüxshadows, Einstürzende Neubauten, and the list goes on forever...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At highschool, even though it was snowing heavily, I begged our PE teacher to let us play football... And she did. That hell of a game under snow with friends was probably among one of the best memories for me. Oh, let's not forget getting head-shot in paintball. Those got me excited. Except for these... Eh, I am an average guy with not much exciting moments :p

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well it depends when I am the guest, but I can share my kebab with them when I am the host. Seriously. This is a big self sacrifice, take the goods, I don't share food with everyone. OK, just kidding. Of course I won't let you eat my kebab. But I can order one for you.
