ABOUT ME
"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." -- Abraham Lincoln
"To be kind is more important than to be necessarily right. Many times, what people need is not a brilliant mind that speaks but a speal heart that listens"
Accepted a good job offer from a US/Canadian employer, packed up my belongings from California and decided to move to Victoria, British Columbia.
In the next 3-4 years, I will be attempting to visit most of the Canadian Provinces and major cities, starting with Beautiful British Columbia and Alberta. Meeting folks and forming good friendships along this journey.
In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering (Marine Search & Rescue), listening to music, attending concerts, rowing, museums, symphonies, mountaineering, climbing, camping, hiking and scenic long drives, basically living life to the fullest.
Volunteered at Kaiser Permanente in California, Habitat for Humanity -Silicon Valley chapter, Meals on Wheels - Texas and Room to Read-San Francisco.Giving back to the community is important to me.
PHILOSOPHY
Summarizes what I believe in:
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines! Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain
We are each on our own journey. Each of us on our very own adventure, encountering all kinds of challenges and the choices we make on that adventure will shape us as we go. Those choices will stretch us, test us and push us to our limits and our adventures will make us stronger then we ever knew we could be.
Couch Surfing is a unique group that allows us to build these wonderful, long lasting and great friendships across the world, meeting some remarkable folks in the process.
We cannot connect the dots looking forward, we can only connect them looking backwards. So we have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in the future. We have to trust in something, destiny, life, karma whatever. Believing that the dots will connect down the road gives us the confidence to follow our hearts, even when it can sometime lead us off the well worn path. It's important to note that after any failures, one must keep on trying. Life is all about successes and failures, as long as there is a sincere effort to keep learning and improving oneself for the betterment. Now a days the heaviness of being successful is replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything but willing to give a try and taking more chances in life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being part of Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue group
Road Trip across California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia.
Having fear of heights and no prior experience in mountaineering, I lost 28 lbs in 4 months to climb a 10,000+ ft mountain in Sierra Nevada. It was an aspiring and uplifting experience.
Behind the wheel of rescue boat running at 6000 rpm and practicing man over board drill
