About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Contribute, connect with conscious people, and live in community as much as possible, while being in gratitude for the diversity of the world.
ABOUT ME
In 2008/2009, my two children and I went adventuring in the US & abroad. We got rid of a lot of stuff, put the rest in storage, rented out our house, and headed out on to the road. We contributed, connected with conscious people, and lived in community as much as possible. CouchSurfing was a big part of that community.
We also stayed at intentional communities, WWOOFing, monasteries ... anywhere like-hearted people get together.
Then we extended the adventure by living in a new place, Vermont, for 4 years.
Now we are back where we started in Boulder, Colorado and looking forward to the world visiting us, in between our travels.
We are easy to host, very experienced couch surfers. We'd also like to give back to you during our stay, whether that's a meal or a project, let us know how we can help.
We started a blog of our Big Trip at: www.happyfamilyadventure.com, but alas didn't get too far with it.
Now we are also enjoying hosting at our home in Boulder, Colorado.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Before we found out about CouchSurfing, we were always open to hosting friends and friends of friends when they come to town. Then we took our Big Trip and lived in community (CS being one of them) for 14 months. Now back in Boulder we look forward to hosting interesting people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
On our trip we stayed with acquaintances on the spur of the moment, and cooked up a mighty-nice dinner for them. We've also stayed at intentional
communities (including Findhorn) and helped with all sorts of chores including kitchen duties (where we provided our share of food), worked in the vegetable garden and did some special projects (including repairing a gazebo). And when we were staying with friends elsewhere, my daughter provided childcare. My biggest project, so far, was rewiring and installing a chandelier, and removing an old stove and replacing it with a new one.
We've also stayed at retreat centers, including Plum Village in France.
So far we've officially couchsurfed over a dozen times, and have been so happy for the connections we have made.
We're hoping to meet conscious, open-hearted people, and CouchSurfing seems to be a great place to do that.

Trying to live: The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have walked on fire with Tony Robbins, and eaten fire, too. The kids and I have hung out with Thich Nhat Hanh and his monastics several times. We travelled serendipitously for 14 months.
