About Me

"I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality" Martin Luther King

Life is good.

Its always changing, expanding and (usually) teaching new lessons. Me? I try to settle down and enjoy the ride and stay focused on having fun while learning along the way.

How do I do that? By enjoying the trip. I try not to get too wrapped up in the details and instead relax. Sit back. Chill. Just see where it goes and its usually some place good.

Some times the best part of travel is getting lost and some times the best part of life is staying home. Its not all in any one spot for me.

I believe in Law of Attraction and that leading a life of joy is the most important thing we can do.

PHILOSOPHY

Personal mission: To lead a life of joy, personal growth and fulfillment by being present in that which I do, transcending limitations and reflecting my values and inner truth in my actions, speech and life circumstances. By doing this I hope to lead a happier, more complete life for myself and to be able to be a positive influence on those around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was very active in couch surfing from 2009-2011.

In 2012 I gave up my home and lived my dreams by spending 3 years traveling. I worked on the Navajo reservation, St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands and a wonderful small town in Minnesota. I also made trips to Nepal, central Europe (Making Berlin the first place I've visited twice because I love it so damn much!) and returned to Africa for Safari.

Eventually the goodbyes became overwhelming and I took a permanent job in Albuquerque, New Mexico which I love! I am settling in to a life of permanence which I love. But throughout my life couchsurfer's remain the best people I have ever met. The best friends, coolest people and most fun to be around. So I'm becoming active again the hopes of meeting and hanging out with some really cool people.

I hosted, surfed and plan many gatherings. I've had several gatherings over 50 people and once hosted more than 15 at one time. Lately I've been less active but I'm hoping to change that.

Couch surfing has brought me not only some of my best local friends but has left me with friends literally around the globe and cultural experiences that leave others jaws gaping. It has a lot of potential and it is THIS that I want to tap into!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read. Some favorites are Shantaram, Hero with a Thousand Faces, The Alchemist, and many other spiritual books. The last good book I've read (As of January, 2016) is To Rise Again at a Decent Hour. The best book you've never even heard of? A novella called Madam Verona comes down the hill, a gift from a Flemish CSer!

I often spiritual books. I meditate regularly.

Movies is all over the map. I loved The prestige, Underworld, A scanner Darkly, Reservoir dogs, Full Metal Jacket (and anything else by Kubrick), Glengarry Glen Ross, The Hustler and I could go on. I also watch a TON of documentaries.

I love live theater and hit several local theatre companies regularly.

Music? Damned if I know. Just depends on my mood.

I also love art museums and belong to Orlando Museum of Art

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cradled a baby dying of Malaria and watched her get better. Run across the state of Florida as part of the Ragnar Relay. Changed my life from a shitty one to an amazing one.
