ABOUT ME

After WWOOFing through Europe and the Middle East and exploring Israel for nearly three years, I am settling down in Seattle with my husband, excited to explore America for once. I'm sad to close the door of my "traveling era" which was in many ways so much more educational than all my years of school. These past few years taught me that I can trust people and still stay safe. I've learned how to make olive oil, how to make cakes out of a few random ingredients and muesli, how to tread lightly on the earth, how to reserve judgment and superfluous words, how to remain true to myself, how to accept reality, and how to avoid the "boxes."

PHILOSOPHY

Every problem can be solved with a little lemon juice, baking soda, and vinegar.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Most of my friends from Israel I met through CS, and I am hoping to get involved with the Seattle community. I taught yoga to CSers in Jerusalem and would love to continue this. I am also looking for a dedicated writing partner. Jewish travelers are welcome to a (really good) kosher meal at our place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My favorite moments are when I can talk to a Canadian in Jerusalem about that night in Belgrade when we drank rakija together...Or when the friend of my host in Athens gets a call from the friend of my previous host in Slovenia...Or when I find out my across the hall neighbor is a CSer and all of a sudden we just GET each other.

Interests

Vegan cooking and baking, gardening, sitting around over tea, coffee or wine for conversation unburdened by boundaries of time, travel writing, writing (or trying to), ancient word origins, Jewish history and literature, folklore, jogging, biking, walking, yoga, deserts, cities, small towns, yurts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The night I saw an Israeli bus driver stop his bus in traffic to move an injured kitten out of his way.

Teach, Learn, Share

Yoga dance! I taught "yoga dance" in Jerusalem on a donation-basis, and most of my students were Couchsurfers.
