ABOUT ME

I am a mature female with grown up children and now that they have all flown the nest I am fulfilling many of my dreams. I have taught English to foreign students for many years .
I have recently returned from S E Asia where I spent 6 months doing voluntary teaching and backpacking. I visited Thailand, Laos, Bali, Cambodia and Vietnam. I went to find out more about Buddhism and to "discover myself". I had a wonderful time and met some really inspirational people in every country.I believe everybody should do this journey at some point in their lives. It makes you appreciate what you have and how lucky we are in the West.
I was not aware of couch surfing when I was in Asia and stayed mostly in hostels.
Last September I went to India for 3 months and had an interesting and fulfilling trip until the last week, when I got dengue fever .....not nice !!!! However have now recovered and am in great anticipation of the next trip............

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in the law of attraction and try to always have a positive outlook and treat people as I want to be treated. Do not bear grudges as they are so self destructive ! and remember, people are all different...what you may enjoy, others may not !!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can offer my couch in Hastings until I go travelling again but I would essentially like to offer a couch to help people on their journey and facilitate their travelling experience. I appreciate how finding an oasis in the unknown desert of the world can be a god send.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

4 times -- 3 ın India and 1 in Turkey...great times !! I have hosted 5 times.

Angkor Wat ( Cambodia) Mae Sot refugee camp on Thai /Burmese border 40,000 people. Worked in an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai Thailand (32 rescue elephants) Visited the S21 prison in Pnom Penh (harrowing experience)Crossed the road in Vietnam ( quite an art actually 4 million motor bikes in Saigon, seems they are all on the road at the same time !!) Painted the interior of an orphanage for deaf and dumb kids in Bali
