I won't eat your personal food, unless you say I can, and I'll clean up my hair in the shower. I also won't have sex on your couch...unless you say I can...?

I'm usually polite in the beginning, and then I'll get somewhat profane. You'll have to forgive my French. I may judge your written grammar. Your spoken grammar, though, can be as broken and half-assed as you can make it. I love accents and dialects.

Mostly, I'm honest. I won't agree with you all the time, but don't take it personally :]

I'm methodically seeing this world one continent at a time. If you need a place to stay in New Orleans, I may be able to help you buuuuut don't you dare ask about Mardi Gras or Jazzfest.

Interests

Laughing. Climbing. Lounging on roofs. Exploring what's just around the riverbend. Dancing--mostly uncouth booty dancing, with drunken spurts of swing. Reading fantasy and science fiction. Playing board games, cause I'm a nerd. Writing about science. Receiving and sending letters to friends, because I'm still loyal to the post office system and hand-written letters. Photographing people (buildings are cool, but people are cooler).

Also, eating all kinds of food and drinking beer and liquor. I will always try to out-drink you. You will probably out-eat me.

Specifics? Literary and all around cleverness makes me laugh, though dirty jokes do the trick too. I climb trees mostly, but gimme a minute to eyeball any obstacle and I'll give it a go. Show me an opportunity to trespass, and I will. Give me a funky beat and a generous jig of your own, and I'll be on the dance floor with you, starting the party up. Then, if you want to relax, sit back with a beer and talk with me. As long as you can laugh when I'm awkward, we can get along.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read mostly speculative, fantastical stuff, though classics are indeed classics. Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow kept me up all night when I first read them. House of Leaves made me want to write more. Jane Eyre gave me hope that fucked-up people can write about fucked-up people and go down in history as literary masterminds.

Rock tends to dominate my playlists, but I'm always interested in your favorite songs. Mine include "Just the Way You Look Tonight" (the Billy Holiday version), "Wonderboy" by Tenacious D, and "Bron-Yr-Aur" by Led Zeppelin.

I enjoy movies that move me. By that, I mean make me laugh or make me tense up. Super Troopers always makes me laugh. Moulin Rouge gets me singing. The Dark Knight inspires me to beat criminals down with my bare fists. That kind of stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sitting on a sand dune at the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico, watching July 4th fireworks to the left until the lightning storm we were also watching to the right swept over us. We ended up huddled in our tent hoping not to get blown over for about thirty minutes, but it was fun!
