About Me

Greetings! I'm Hari, and I'm a professional storyteller perpetually in pursuit of the next breathtaking, soul-stirring, or just plain weird anecdote. My ultimate goal? To conjure these tales onto the big screen through Cinema. Think of me as a mild-mannered idea thief, constantly scanning the horizon for the next awe-inspiring, heartfelt narrative. I have worked on film productions around the world from Hollywood to Bollywood! I am also the first Indian alumnus of the prestigious "OSCARS Gold Rising Fellowship".

My fuel is travel. I often joke that if I stay in one place for too long, my creative batteries die and I start talking to the houseplant. New places, new faces, new cultures—that’s where the inspiration truly lives. Meeting new people isn't just a hobby; it’s my research department! I love nothing more than getting delightfully lost in an unfamiliar city, figuring out the bus system, and accidentally ordering something I can't pronounce (but hopefully, is delicious).

Warning: If you host me, be prepared to share your most ridiculous travel blunder or a family secret involving a suspicious heirloom. It just might end up being my next movie!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because, as a storyteller, I've realized that the best narratives never happen in a hotel lobby—they happen on a local's couch, over bad coffee, at 3 AM. I'm actively avoiding the soulless isolation of chain hotels because I believe that the real heart of any city is found through its people. Plus, let's be honest, I'm trying to fund my ambitious cinematic dreams, and every dollar saved on accommodation is another foot of film I can shoot. I'm here to meet you, hear your story, share mine, and prove that real life is always more interesting than a travel brochure.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste can be described as dystopian-cowboy-genius-with-a-headache. I am obsessed with the cinematic mind-benders of Chris Nolan- if it involves complex time travel and an ambiguous ending, I'm already buying the ticket. My reading list is exclusively the high-concept sci-fi of the greats like Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke; I'm basically just waiting for the robot revolution to start. And finally, my soul is permanently stuck in 1957, favoring the beautiful, sad sincerity of classic Country music and the lyrical genius of Bob Dylan. Apologies in advance if I wake up humming a slightly depressing tune about a lost love and a rusty pickup truck.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once undertook a ridiculous, ill-advised, and glorious solo trek deep into a remote corner of the Himalayas, pursuing a hunch. The terrain was less "trail" and more "vertical rock face actively trying to end me," the altitude was punishing, and the weather alternated between blizzard and instant-sunburn. My reward? After days of climbing, I found a cache of incredibly rare Ammonite fossils—proof that this immense mountain range was once, millions of years ago, the bottom of an ocean.

Nothing compares to sitting on that impossible ridge, cradling a prehistoric snail-shell, watching the entire snow-covered range glow under a cold, brilliant moon. It was a glorious, humbling, and utterly silent sight. And yes, I absolutely brought one back with me (it's currently the oldest object on my bookshelf, probably judging my life choices). Seeing that fusion of impossible geology and majestic landscape was pure, cinematic awe. It proved to me that sometimes, the best stories are 65-million-year-old plot twists hidden in plain sight. (I'm currently writing the screenplay where the fossil reanimates and sings country music.)

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe the magic of Couchsurfing is the cultural exchange. I can teach the basics of visual storytelling, give you tips on structuring a great narrative, or simply show you how to look at a local street scene and find the cinematic moment within it. I am eager to learn absolutely anything you are willing to share—from the local history, your favorite family recipe, basic phrases in your native language, or the unwritten rules of social etiquette in your city. I love to share my travel stories (the embarrassing ones are the best), my unique perspective on life, and maybe even a few classic Bob Dylan tracks, assuming you can tolerate the emotional weight of a man singing about his worn-out shoes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I never see hosting as just a transaction—it's a generous exchange! You can expect a respectful, flexible, and self-sufficient guest who is committed to leaving your space better than I found it. As a storyteller, I come ready to listen, swap incredible travel tales, and offer free creative consultation if you need help on an idea or project. While I'm happy to help with cooking, my true superpower is being an efficient and meticulous clean-up expert, ensuring I don't leave a single dish or mess behind. I respect your schedule, your home, and your local knowledge above all else!
