About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live a simple and content life

ABOUT ME

Hey all! My name is Peter.
I'm a lifelong student in the academy of the 'the good life'. I'm nuts about cooking, baking and eating and love storytelling.
I have a laidback attitude and I'm a 'tea drinking' kind of guy who loves to philosophize, or just talk with you and hear your story.

So here's a small list of the things in life that I did/would like to do that make life so wonderful:

- Taking a random bus (in an unknown city) to the final stop, just to see where it goes.
- Booking plane tickets to places 'that sound interesting' without knowing anything else about the place.
- Traveling without a plan.
- Throwing dinner plates on the floor, just to feel as if I'm at a Greek wedding.
- Sleep under the stars.
- Try food from all over the world, even if it's strange.
- Making a test ride in a fancy, expensive car, just for the thrill.
- Participate in an auction.
- Learn languages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Give more than you take.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The references say it all. =)

I also hosted some mates from abroad before I knew of the existence of Couchsurfing.

Interests

I have three 'taste-hobbies':
- Food: cooking, baking, eating.
- Liquid hobby: whisky (especially Scottish single malt) and special beers.
- Gaseous hobby: an occasional cigar.

I'm always up for good conversations and philosophizing every subject you can imagine: politics, environment, religion, culture, law, society, you name it.

I like to read. Study books to keep my brain fit and great stories to make sure I never leave fairy tale land.
I try to always challenge myself in tons of ways, always intending to make the world a better place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Experiencing true silence:

- Hiking in Jotunheimen National Park, Norway and West Schotland
- Almost touching heaven whilst on top of Preikestolen, Norway
- Silent retreats in monasteries and experiencing spirituality.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to cook, so if I have the opportunity I will teach you. I'm always up for a game of squash and love to converse about religion and culture all over the world.
I'm a city guide and cultural educator so I can give city tours in Nijmegen and other cities and museums.
