ABOUT ME

hi! i'm hariklia (friends call me hari). i know, it's a weird name, actually it's greek... long family history^^.

anyway, i grew up in vienna, then after school i moved to berlin. i came to this wonderful city, full of color, life and joy, to do my BA studies of "publizistik" (journalism) and english. now, i'm done with that and i'm doing my MA in american studies.

i really love the night life of berlin, the queer community, parties of all sorts, protests of all sorts, hung-over as well as motivated joyfull active sunday mornings. the people here are one of the kindest i've ever met. and you meet new pleople all the time, believe me ;)

winter here is kind of aweful, but summer is great. there are lots of turkish markets near my area where you can buy cheap and fresh fruits and veggies and stuff. sitting in the huge parks and doing a pick nick or just having a couple of drinks with friends, is the best. also, i love to go on concerts and play some music myself. berlin is full if good bands playing here, often i actually even lose track...

at the moment, i'm really sorry that i can't offer you a couch, as i'm super busy and stressed out with working and studying.

i also love to surf myself. had the very BEST experience while traveling through some countries in europe and in the summer of 2012 through the US. it was AMAZING! i love this community here!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

USA: east coast, west coast, some places in between;
hamburg, amsterdam, warsaw and krakow! couch surfing is unbelievably great! i love it! i had only great experiences with all the lovely hosts and i'm so much looking forward to get more and more :)

also, i like to host my friends and people who write me nice messages on CS and are thoughtful and easy-going guests. seriously: just be nice.

films: Moonrise Kingdom! (acually ALL wes anderson movies), the last unicorn (i know, it's actually animated and "for kids", but i love it since i was a child), Kill Bill, Fight Club, drive, Hayao Miyazaki/ Studio Ghibli movies (like Spirited Away),...

music: mostly indie and electronic: THE KNIFE, portugal. the man, soko, ja, panik and bilderbuch (austrian bands), iamx, warren suicide, winter gloves, interpol, feist, pj harvey, yeah yeah yeahs, miike snow, silver swans, sharon van etten, radiohead, the cardigans, the strokes, antennas, phoenix, the xx... but also some goog "old" stuff like janis joplin, jimi hendrix, beatles, abba, ...

books:i really love kafka! and one of my favourite books is "clockwork orange" by anthony burgess (really amazingly written!)

everyday life amazes me actually all the time. people and how they deal with day-to-day situations are fun stuff to observe...

i'm a pretty good cook. i'm a happy person. i make people laugh. i'm a notorious masseuse. i'm well educated in movies, series, music and dance moves.
and i'm willig to share it all with you! i would love to learn more in each and every field of knowledge, so teach me please.
