About Me

Hi! My name is Harjyot and I'm 28. I recently moved to Berlin and it's one of my dream cities to live in :) feels amazing! I grew up in Mumbai, India and moved around quite a bit in the last few years. This is the first summer where I am not going somewhere else.

I work as a communication designer and illustrator and especially enjoy working on projects that focus in social development and education.

I'm not on here often and use social media erratically but if you want you can contact me on my Instagram : @whirlwnd where I'm likely to respond.

I enjoy travelling, exploring, hiking, forest walks, chamomile tea, watching tv shows and listening to podcasts in my free time. Almost always spotted with a notebook and pens. I have been collecting graphic novels for a while now and aspire to make one someday.

I also enjoy stitching/embroidering, drawing, painting and making things as often as I can. I love visiting museums, looking at architecture and art galleries.
Just learning to live a wholesome life and having as many experiences as I can! I don't like cooking so much but I like being an independent adult so I cook all the time.

I aspire to change the world one step at a time. In the country I grew up in, I think education is the best way to do so. Discussions about society, culture, identities, relationships expression, behaviour and psychology are always interesting.

I believe kindness is a very important quality to have. I enjoy doing things for other people and getting to know them better. My culture continues to teach me how to be a good host, and a good guest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To connect.

If you decide to host me, I'd be super grateful. I can cook you some vegetarian food, make some nice coffee, share my stories, and draw you something. I also can assure you that I am tidy, considerate and not noisy at all. And of course, I'd love to hang out and get to know your homeplace like you know it and the way you see it.

I am keen to host people but please, if your message doesn't even include my name in it, it's going to be a no. I care about my safety (one could argue as a lot of personal information is available here) and if you don't have a well filled out profile, it's going to be no. I understand that people are new to CS, I've been hosted graciously by people even when I was really new. But hey - really - just some advice if you wanna be hosted - Use the correct name, make sure you read the profile and personalise the message a little, and talk about what you're upto.

Interests

I'm interested in anything and everything really (mostly I guess).

Learning is beautiful and a great joy and after a long time, i intend to live in Berlin for a while, it's a great place to explore.

I enjoy reading psychology papers for fun.
