Overview
About Me
Greetings couchsurfing community! Due to a large number of requests to stay, we would kindly ask that you request a maximum of 3 nights couchsurfing. If we are able to host you longer we can do so by arrangement. Thank you for your understanding!
CURRENT MISSION
Finish all the books in the BBC 2003 'Big Read' top 100.
ABOUT ME
Travel is a passion and addiction of mine. When I'm not traveling, I'm planning the next trip. Actually, I'm often planning the next trip *while* traveling.
I love meeting folks from different places, talking about history, politics, ideas, the things that make life meaningful for you :)
Hidden test: I believe Couchsurfing should be about more than just free accommodation. It's about meeting like-minded people and making the effort to get to know them. To avoid spam requests, I would ask that you tell me one thing in your request message: a new country or place you would love to travel to, and why. That way I can give preference to people who bother to read about their potential host!
PHILOSOPHY
Be yourself, share what and when you can, keep an open mind, continue to grow and learn all your life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've met some amazing people on my travels, and enjoy sharing ideas and discussion, cooking and food, culture and laughter.
I love my home, and it's nice to share somewhere comfortable and with a good atmosphere with travellers. Likewise, for me it's lovely to stay in somewhere that 'feels like home' when I'm on the road!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've stayed with a few people I've met, and they helped me to get to know their cities in a way that I wouldn't have staying at a hostel. I love going to people's favourite restaurants, viewpoints, museums, galleries and clubs :)
Interests
Traveling, learning Spanish, art (especially graffiti art), literature, politics, modern history, learning new skills (like folding origami creatures or how to make chocolate).

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy indie-rock and electronica music, and dabble in other genres (pop, rock, techno, classical). A few artists/bands I like include Florence and the Machine, Pendulum, Ladyhawke, Groove Armada, Crowded House, The Killers, frou frou, Gypsy and the Cat, PNAU, and Ferry Corsten.
My favourite book is Shantaram, by Gregory David Roberts. A fantastic story beautifully written, set in India.
Other favourites (in no particular order) include:
Middlemarch - George Eliot
Dispatches - Michael Herr
Bleak House - Charles Dickens
Nexus - Ramez Naam
The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dancing in the winner's parade during Carnivale in Rio was pretty epic. So many feathers. So much glitter! What a night!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love sharing ideas and stories, and have an open mind to new experiences or learning opportunities. Everyone can teach you something, you just need to know how to listen :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Travel and adventure stories, contributing to meals and good times, and sharing knowledge and ideas.
