About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I love writing poetry and painting and do these every day. But I would say that my biggest mission is to build a creative community in Melbourne, Australia. Right now I'm traveling and exploring communities around the world in order to get ideas :)
ABOUT ME
When I was eighteen I made this profile and wrote: "trying to put a whole lot of fun experiences between the 'childhood' and 'rest of my life' bits of my life :)"
Even though I'm 31 now, that still feels pretty accurate :)
When I was eighteen, I wrote: "okay, i like writing and drawing in journals and projects, like making films or big paintings, for fun, and then i also like singing bad falsetto and big kitchen percussion sessions and going crazy, but mainly i would like to think i was a pretty chilled out guy with an inclination towards art and stuff"
Again, just spot on. Good work, eighteen year old Harley!
PHILOSOPHY
- "Don't dream it, be it."
- I believe we make our own meaning, and you can make whatever you want of importance to you in your life.
- Love meeting people.
- I really enjoy a lot of Taoist thinking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm living in a beautiful sharehouse in Footscray, Melbourne, which we affectionately call 'The Droop.' We've been having people on our couch for about a year now, both from this website and friends of friends, etc, and have really enjoyed the energy people have bought into our house.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had a great trip around Europe when I was eighteen - I remember my first couchsurfing experience was staying with Christian in Berlin, and i wished I'd discovered this earlier! The best thing is all of the things you end up doing that would never happen without it, in the first two hours after my friend and i met him, i had driven through Berlin and suddenly knew all these things about the city and where to go check out, it was great XD
Interests
I am writing a novel about travel and pop music and will probably inevitably talk about that a bit but also love talking about films, art and music in general and the world and am really interested in peoples stories too!
