ABOUT ME

I might not always be the most talkative person, but that's absolutely not because I'm not interested in people but because I tend to be a bit shy. I'm working on the problem to get rid of it though:D Anyway, if you are seriously afraid of occasional silent moments you might want to avoid stereotypical Finns like me;) Otherwise, give me a little time to warm up and you'll find that I'm a nice person after all:) And anyway, I'm a great listener: I really enjoy hearing people's stories and learning about other cultures etc. etc.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't know WHY I live, but I know HOW I want to live.. namely, I want to learn to live in this moment. Not in the future, not in the past anymore.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've mostly been surfing/meeting people on my travels, and hosted a few times when I once had a suitable apartment. But since I tend to live in small rooms in shared houses I'm usually not able to host.

Interessen

Languages! At the moment especially Japanese and Chinese. And coming up next is Russian. I love challenges :)
Apart from that, reading, hanging out with friends, enjoying life, eating chocolate and anything else sweet, taking photos of everything interesting ...

And then quite obviously, seeing the world. My personal preference in my attempt to do that is to stay a long time in one place to get an idea of what it's actually like to live there, and that's why I try to find work or something else in the places which I'm most interested in. Actually I'm always ready to take a job anywhere if somebody offers me one outside of Finland.. So far I've been working in Sweden, France, Belgium and China. But obviously, I won't have the time to live and work in all places in the world, and then I think Couchsurfing is the next best thing when travelling somewhere only for a while, since it allows me to get in contact with people who actually do live in those places and see a bit how they live..

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Tolkien´s books; A Thousand Splendid Suns; Les Misérables; Little Women;
Chinese, Japanese and Singaporean movies (mostly for the purpose of hearing those awesome languages.
My taste in music varies, but right now I'm into some J-rock bands and the Taiwanese band Mayday (五月天).

I can teach you some Finnish:D and I'd love to learn to say something more or less useful in any other languages..especially the bad words, which are always missing from the regular language courses:)
