About Me

I love showing off Vancouver at its sunny best when I'm free in the summer, and can take beginners kayaking if it's nice weather.

I enjoy a lot of activities--indoor climbing, snowshoeing, theatre, improv, cycling, slam poetry, cooking, salsa, etc.-- but none regularly enough that I can call any of them a "hobby". I was into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for about eight years, and Jeet Kune Do before that. In 2013, I graduated from massage school while also working full-time.

I'm hooked on podcasts (such as Radiolab, CBC Ideas, Big Ideas, Freakonomics, This American Life, Hardcore History).

Usually when I travel, it has involved some sort of humanitarian purpose such as international aid. Now I'm trying to have a bit more fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet interesting people and have a ready pool of people to hang out with!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Big rocks impress me. Like really big ones. Cappadocia, Yellow Mountain, Ha Long Bay, etc.

Scuba diving in the Caribbean: drift-diving through massive coral reefs, swimming with turtles, and getting too close to whale sharks.

Sparring with an Olympic boxer in a public park in Ankara, and rolling with Jiu-Jitsu greats like Feitosa.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can take you kayaking to some beautiful spots in the area, so long as you're willing to cover rental fees. No experience necessary.

If you think you cook well, I want to learn your best dishes!
