My name is actually pronounced as "ma-ree-teh" and usually it takes a couple of attempts to remember it. Practice makes perfect, remember? (:

I once broke my rib while poledancing and guys from emergency gave me laughing gas. Things became so much funnier then, I even said "Oh, I like it. Can I have more?"

I'm also an introvert that is being converted into an extrovert, these days I equally enjoy both 72 hour long parties and lonely hikes and meditations

But when it comes to travelling, I like it slow - gives me more insight of the area and reveals things that are culturally interesting and strange

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a mind blowing project and I wish I was there when it existed as a telephone book in each country! I'm meeting funny, kind, ambitious, inspiring people here, it's great to connect with locals and experience the world through their eyes and perspectives

Interests

Like many curious people, I usually try things that push my boundaries and make me do stuff I never knew existed. No consolidated list but think of circus, art festivals, maths, cycling, DIY, cuisines of the world, languages, landscape photography, yoga, costume creation, bodypainting, hitchhiking, coffee making, communities.

I love finding hidden gems in urban lives (kind of 'locals and their friends only'), cycling into the sunset after a long working day, waking up in a tent and brewing coffee in the middle of nowhere. Nature has incredible energy, I'm still not sure why I'm so amazed by it.
