CURRENT MISSION
On the outwards journey for personal growth.
ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Harmonica and yes, that is my real given name. I wish I could of said that my parents used to be hippies or potheads, but the reality of it is, they chose to embrace me with an "American" name.
I'm of Cambodian, Vietnamese and Chinese descent but 100% American raised. I lived in Brooklyn for most of my life and spent a few years away to attend college at Full Sail University in Orlando, FL
A free-spirit kind of guy, the Myer-Briggs type indicator labels me an ENFP but what does it really know? I'm much more of a unique snowflake than that :D. Jack-of-all-trades describes me well as I learn best through a holistic approach.
Why am I traveling right now? Ever run into that point in your life where everything is routine and human interactions feels like a soap opera that runs ad naseum? I'm looking to change that mentality of mine!
PHILOSOPHY
Don't be an armchair philosopher.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have a few friends who have surfed and hosted many travelers which is the motivation for me to give this a try.
Interests
- Socializing and building rapport with other people.
- Cycling. Former Bike Messenger who survived the crazy dangerous roads of Manhattan. The bike culture is huge in New York City. While it is not an official thing, hardcore riders know we are part of a brotherhood that watches out for one another. Riding for me was always about freedom and not being confined to a metal box. It's about the journey and not just getting to the destination.
Art - I'm no artist but I highly appreciate it. One of my favourite places to frequent was the Museum of Modern Arts and the Guggenheim. If you're familiar with areas like Williamsburg, Bushwick, and stops off of the L train, then you can probably figure out what kind of people I hang out with.
Music - Music will always play a huge role in my life. I'm all for catching a local band at at a small venue or checking out popular acts in a huge stadium. I can't imagine or live in a world without music. I had to get over living in a world without Michael Jackson :(
Dancing - I used to be a raver back in my younger days. Unbelievable, right? Hip-Hop and House Dancing are my preferred styles. If we're heading out, you're going to have to barricade me from the dance floor.
Fashion - What can I say? I love to dress well. Humans are visual creatures and while your personality is important, it doesn't hurt to also physically present yourself in a positive appealing manner .
Urban Exploration - Nothing like setting foot into the unknown for the first time.
Eating - If there is one major fear I do have, it's starvation!
Tattoos - Some people may be put off by it and I can respect that. I view it as a form of self expression otherwise.
Flash mobbing - Trolling an unsuspecting person in public is like playing your inner child in a world of rigid people.
