About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel and meet like minded people. I don't believe there are any strangers out there, just friends I haven't met yet.
ABOUT ME
I am a retired teacher/counselor and live in Vernon, B.C., Canada with my best friend and partner Sally. I love music (especially live) and jamming with others. I play drums in a band with Sally but also play other instruments. I travel with my Autoharp and enjoy sharing my music with others in coffee shops, homes etc. I love life! and laughing and meeting new people. I believe we are here to help others, and if we can't help them then don't hurt them. I don't believe in coincidences, I think we meet others because we are meant to for some reason. I enjoy learning about new places and cultures.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that life is for living, get the most out of life in the here and now because who knows what tomorrow will bring; I believe and try to live by the following statements.
The only limits that you have are the limits which you have set for yourself in your own mind.
There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle; the other is as if everything is.
Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have an extra bedroom and a couch in the den for like minded travelers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed my way down to Austin Texas in January /09 and have hosted some travelers here. I've met some really good people and found it to be a great experience so far!
Interests
My interests include music, reading, spending time with family and friends, walking to town and our local coffee shop and healthy living - I don't eat much meat, free range chicken or turkey and organic foods when I can. I'm also interested in energy healing and the incredible power of belief. I enjoy visiting a big city for the arts, the culture, restaurants etc. but spend most of my time in the smaller places and love being in nature for what it has to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Classic Rock, Roots and Blues mostly; I like good song writers/singers like John Prine, Fred Eaglesmith, Slaid Cleaves, Jimmy La Fave, Dylan. I'll listen to anything before deciding if it does anything for me or not.
Books: "The Power of Now", "A New Earth", "Defy Gravity", "Spontaneous Healing of Belief", etc
Movies: Depends in my mood - do I want to laugh, think, veg out etc.
Also "What the Bleep ..." and inspirational movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmmmm? I participated in a Summer Solstice party on the top of a hill in Dawson City in the Yukon, the longest day of the year, where the sun disappeared for about 35 minutes then reappeared. I also traveled to the mountains in Mexico where the Monarch Butterflies travel from Canada to mate. What an absolutely beautiful sight! A mystical experience with a deer in Arizona.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe we can all learn from one another. I like to share my music by singing and playing my Autoharp if people are interested in that.
