About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Plant a garden in my windowsill.
ABOUT ME
I am a freelance writer and editor living and working in Paris. I founded a literary arts magazine in 2008 - Her Royal Majesty - and love creating community through art.
PHILOSOPHY
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move; to feel the needs and hitches of our own life more nearly; to come down off this feather-bed of civilisation, & find the globe granite underfoot & strewn with cutting flints."
- Robert Louis Stevenson, Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have lived in Paris for nearly five years and walk and ride my bike everywhere. I can recommend the best coffee shops and pizza places, and the boutiques that sell paper lamps in the shapes of zebras.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Meeting Couchsurfers in Halifax, where I was living to go to university, made me remember that my city could be a destination.
Interests
Being in the city, being away from the city, writing, art, music without words, music with words, learning.

Standing on the ridge of Þingvellir, the ridge between the European and North American tectonic plates, on my way to Paris. I was fogged-up and wet and, both literally and metaphorically, in between worlds.
