These days I mostly listen to postrock and other music without lyrics.
Had my musical awakening in the late 80's/ early 90's though, so I WILL sing along to any AIC / Tool / NIN / Radiohead you play.
Infact I will also sing along to the backstreet boys and Indian film music.

I like appreciating films & books according to their intent, so I like Man of Steel as well as Shame. Bill Burroughs, Frank Herbert, Asimov.
