Overview
About Me
I am a university student from the US currently studying climate change in India for 6 weeks. Once my studies end, I intend to backpack around Japan for 3-4 weeks (7/14-8/6). I love everything Japanese. Now that I have the opportunity to go to Japan, I want to become friends with a local to delve further into the culture. Also, I have been studying Japanese for two semesters and would welcome the opportunity to practice my skills with my host. I have a food blog so I will be out scouring Tokyo/Kyoto for great food everyday. I look forward to meeting you and exchanging cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used couchsurfing with my friends last spring while studying abroad in France and met some really cool, welcoming locals. This will be my first time doing it on my own and I hope to make friends in the same way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Camped in the Sahara Desert, foraged for truffles in south of France, bathed an elephant at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand, Tiger Safari in India, and look forward to the amazing things I will do in Japan!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have been practicing yoga for the past ten years and can teach certain poses. I want to learn anything I can about Japanese food, traditional arts and customs. In turn, I can share what life is like in New York!
