Overview
About Me
I am currently 27 years old and from Australia. Recently I made a move over to a city called Leiden in the Netherlands to play a season of field hockey for a team located there. This meant I had to quit my job to come over and explore the world whilst having this unique opportunity to continue playing hockey.
I am a very friendly and easy going guy who loves to socialise and meet new people, or get out and about and explore whatever city I am in. I'm always up for a casual drink, love finding new cafes for coffee, going out for dinners or staying home and cooking a shared meal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couch surfing as due to the hockey season we have a 2 month winter break (December & January) in which time I'm looking to explore more of Europe.
Whilst I am doing this I'd love any opportunity to spend time with local people, so I can learn more about the city I am in.
I'm always happy to contribute to the house I am staying in by way of cooking, cleaning, or assisting with any other duties/chores.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite movies include anything with some good action, thrillers, or comedy.
I like really any type of music, however you can usually find me listening to something with a lot of beat (Dance/House music)
I'm getting back into reading, however I usually enjoy biography related books or anything that can help me better myself as a person.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On my trek to Machu Picchu, we arrived first thing in the morning at the bottom of the gate where you have to pass through. I couldn't believe how big the line was at 4am, but sure enough the gates opened and we then had 1 hour to make it to the top before the gates into Machu Picchu opened.
A number of people staying near by chose to take the bus up which left half an hour later, meaning I had roughly 40 mins to make it to the top, as myself and some friends aimed to make it there first.
Sure enough after 30 minutes of climbing stairs and getting to the top, we arrived before anyone else and any buses, this meant we were the first to line up. I was the very first person through the gates of Machu Picchu on that day, meaning that when I got in I was able to observe and take in the views over looking Machu Picchu completely empty before the crowds came in.
It was something I'll never forget.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share travel advice around any of the cities I have been to. If people want to improve their english I am able to assist.
Having lived out of home for so long I'm always happy to teach cooking skills that I know.
Being a sports scientist I have a large amount of knowledge when it comes to health and exercise so am always happy to share any tips related to that.
