Hi, I'm Harry. My parents are both Vietnamese origin but I was born in Australia and grew up there. I've stayed in Taipei (Taiwan) for 2 and a half months and then lived in Vietnam for 8 months teaching English. Now I'm working in New Zealand

Please note: I do enjoy going out occasionally but I'm not a party animal. If you are looking for a drinking buddy then I'm not the right guy. I'm also not much of a foodie so going to fancy restaurants is not really my thing unless it is for a special occasion. If you like Sports or Learning Languages then I think we'll get along well

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm hoping to meet like-minded people that I can be true friends with. I don't just want to meet as many people as possible. I don't really get along with people with big egos or judgmental. If you are friendly, and have similar interests to me then I'll want to meet you.

Interests

No. 1 Interest: Learning Languages. Through learning languages, I can enjoy different types of media and broaden my knowledge of other cultures, it also makes travelling twice as fun and interesting. So I speak:
* Vietnamese (Upper Intermediate)
* Chinese (Intermediate)
* Spanish (Intermediate)
*Japanese (Beginner)
This year I just got serious about learning languages and with my time off, I'm dedicating my time to mastering these languages.
Future Languages I'm interested in are: Japanese, French, German, Possibly Arabic!

Other Interests: Learning about cultures, Travelling, Movies, Music, Filming, Photography, Soccer, Tennis, Sports and games

I love all types of music, from old to new and from different languages! My favorite movies are probably Inception and The Dark Knight but I also can enjoy animations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The craziest thing I've ever done is probably on my very first trip overseas. I went to Costa Rica for a Volunteer Program and met a lot of other volunteers. Within the first week I decided to get my very first tattoo with 2 friends I had only just met, we all got 'Pura Vida' tattoo'd on us. Luckily to this day, I'm still friends with them and I still love my tattoo.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to travel and I love languages. When I travel, I much prefer to immerse myself in the culture rather than go site-seeing. I have done all different types of travelling styles such as volunteering, going in big group on adventures, going with friends, going alone. But the best experiences are always when I am able to meet new friends and learn about how people in other cultures act and what makes them unique
