I am Harutyun (which means "resurrection" in ENG), however, friends are calling me Harut or Harry. The latter version is relatively easy to remember, as I have Potter look like glasses now.

I am an Armenian origin young person who has become a journalist because of not trusting the media and news presented by other journalists. I did not want to rely on newspapers, TV or radio for information. I was more curious to find my own sources and build my own empire which I do now. At least I try hard.

I work at Wayne University in the United States and, from time to time visit Armenia to see family.

As I did journalism (continue writing but not that much active as it was before), I traveled almost the globe and got a chance to meet so many people. I did manage to make good friendship with some famous / influential people around the globe - from the US to Armenia, from the UK to Ukraine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here to find friends from all over the world, as my profession/occupation pushes me to be always there, when the big events are, so I need to travel and explore a lot. I am almost going for all big football events: FIFA World Cup, UEFA EURO tournaments, Champions and Europa Leagues finals...

I want to make new friends in the cities I visit, as having friends and close people make one be the natural rich. And discovering the world with locals is the best way to learn about a country.

Music, Movies, and Books

Who does not like Justin Timberlake?! And his solo is my favorite one "Can't Stop The Feeling!" However, I do like techno and electro music. The ones from 1980/90s are touching me a lot.
I do like to watch movies too! The favorite one is "The Shawshank Redemption", and, of course, all parts of "Godfather" series.
I read a lot, so there are many, really many books to mention, so you can ask about the ones which I read most recently!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been in 100+ sports / football stadiums in the world: from Estadio Santiago Bernabéu to Maracana, from Hrazdan Stadium to Nou Camp.
And I continue to visit and explore new cities with their stadiums.

Teach, Learn, Share

The main value of my life includes making good for people as I do like socializing, and making friends in this globe is the best way to keep in touch with them. I am an altruist when it comes to the approach to my friends and even random people.

I have good cooking skills from traditional cuisine of Armenia, which I can share with the hosts/guests. I learned cooking when living alone, and have an idea to open my own restaurant (if you have new ideas, feel free to share).

However, it's better if I can help you to learn and do able investigative reporting through open data. This can help you to know so much things around the world (including politics) and your country.

Learning from every case and everyone is important for me! And that's why I decided to use Couchsurfing for traveling and meeting people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The Armenian candies which are so delicious that you should try almost once in your life. We have one called panda, and that is the best. But if you do not like sweets I can bring you high-quality cigarettes /Ararat, Akhtamar, Cigaronne/ if the host is a smoker, and one of the most delicious brandies in the world "Ararat" brandy /cognac/.
