About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see and experience as much as possible through meeting and engaging with people.

ABOUT ME

Studying a History degree at the University of Sussex which I believe to be really cool but the rest of the world is less keen on. I have hair, eyes, a mouth and a nose and I like whistling (well), singing (poorly), dancing (excellently) and chatting (too much).

PHILOSOPHY

If at first you don't succeed, don't bother.

Only kidding.

Try as hard as you can in everything you do and things will end up alright in the end. If only I listened to my own advice more.

Things improve.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfed all over Europe and would really like to start hosting too!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

Cliched but just about anything will interest me! If you have a story, I want to hear it, if you have a random fact, I'd like to hear that too.

Whether it's Heroditus or Cyprus, I find history fascinating so when I nod my head and ask endless questions about where you live and what you know about it try not to get too annoyed (okay, I will shut up if I have to!)

I follow England in rugby and cricket (the only element of nationalism in my life) and am a supporter of Wasps Rugby Club (unfortunately they ran out of money and no longer exist, I know the feeling.) I've played rugby since I was about 14, not always well but always with enjoyment. I'm not particularly competitive but I love a board game even if I'm not very good.

Science is another massive interest for me, having studied it and been entranced by its applications in all aspects of our lives. For me science is a beautiful way of understanding the world around us- but not the only way!

Obviously I like traveling or I wouldn't be typing at this keyboard, on this website, now/10 years ago.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Couchsurfing!

I've met so many lovely people that I couldn't name them all individually but it's given me so many great new experiences and treasured memories.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love talking about History, Politics, Science or anything else at all really (although once I see the glazed look start to appear in people's eyes I normally get the hint!) and am keen to share/teach anything I know with others.

My English isn't too bad and I've worked as an English teacher in the past so I'm happy to help you practice (I've found myself used as a letter-writer by one couchsurfing host in particular!)

I like to think of myself as open-minded and ready to learn anything that others are willing to teach me. I really would like to improve my rather dismal French which I'm hoping I passed my exam in! *Update: I did pass my exam - 9 years ago now, time flies.

What I Can Share with Hosts
