I'm easy going, fairly quiet, and can always spare a smile. I like meeting people and the animals that they might choose to live with. I love that feeling of being far away from home and the buzz of coming back.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am only being hosted as I do not have a suitable place to host people, In the near future I'm sure I will.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with people in Bellingham (Washington US), Greymouth, Aukland (New Zealand) and Melbourne (Australia). I have Couchsurfed with hundreds of other people but its usually done through friends of friends and there has been no need for this website.

Intereses

From a young age I have loved playing with Circus toys, I suppose I am in my 7th year of Poi and 4th of Contact juggling. Other toys like Devil sticks and Staff are good fun too especially when set on fire. The other things in my life that interest me are, the sensation of Surfing, feeling the power of that wave beneath your feet! and flying a big kite on a windy day always puts a silly smile on my face, one day I will combine the two. On a broader perspective, people interest me (how complex and detailed all our lives are) and animals, from an awesome looking dog in the park, to recognising a bird by its song.

Música, películas y libros

JRR Tolkin is the most poetic and vivid author I have ever read, the Lord of the Rings captured my imagination and sent me to Middle earth for about three months. Phillip Pullman (his Dark Materials) is also a fantastic read and the Harry Potter books always send me back to my childhood. Other authors I enjoy are Neil Gayman, Terry Pratchett, Clive Barker, James Redfield and Douglas Adams ('last chance to see' made me laugh or cry almost on every page)

As for music I have quite a varied taste, but to put it simply I like anything that has intelligence in its lyrics like, A Tribe Called Quest, Scroobius Pip, Tool, The Devil Makes Three, Alt-J . Anything that has beautiful use of instruments, Bonobo, Air- Moon Safari, St Germain, The Cat Empire, Morcheeba, The Sound Defects, Desert Dwellers, Ernest Ranglin. Also anything that gets me dancing, Parov Stellar, The Upbeats, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Balkan Beat Box, Afro Celt Sound System, Gotan Project. Classics like Pink Floyd, Specials and Bob Marley go without saying.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I have radio tracked wolf and moose collars from a helicopter while working on a wildlife conservation project in Alberta Canada, we also encountered grizzly and black bears and a family of wolves.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I would like to learn to snowboard, kite surf, and cook a mean pie. Teaching Poi and other circus skills to people is always fun especial kids. Sharing stories and thoughts, music and food.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I'm a pretty good cook and I always travel with a set of glow Poi and a contact ball (lights on string to spin in the dark and a crystal ball that looks like its floating).
