Overview
About Me
Hey there! I’m Harshit from Udaipur, India – a leather artist, nature lover, and deep believer in good conversations over good food. I’ve been working in the creative field for over 15 years, building handcrafted goods that blend design, purpose, and a bit of storytelling.
When I’m not working, I enjoy meeting new people, exploring local culture, sharing stories, and learning how others see the world. My home is open to curious travelers who respect space, enjoy meaningful talks, and don’t mind a cup of chai (or two).
I value honesty, kindness, and laughter. Whether it’s a short stay or a long chat, I hope to make you feel at home while you’re here.
Let’s connect through stories, shared meals, music, or even a walk around the city!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that travel is more than just visiting places — it’s about meeting people, exchanging ideas, and discovering how beautifully diverse yet deeply connected we all are.
Hosting or staying with someone turns a simple trip into a shared story. It brings moments of kindness, unexpected conversations, and memories that no hotel can offer. I love the idea of opening my home and heart to fellow travelers who are curious, respectful, and open-minded.
As a creator and storyteller, I’m always looking to learn from different cultures, perspectives, and ways of life. Couchsurfing lets me do that — one cup of chai, one conversation, and one connection at a time.
Interests
I’m deeply passionate about creativity in all its forms — whether it’s crafting leather by hand, designing meaningful objects, or dreaming up stories like Crown of Creation, a family treasure hunt rooted in philosophy.
I love exploring culture, architecture, nature, and the quiet beauty in everyday life. Long conversations, meaningful silences, and the little rituals of hospitality inspire me.
Some of my interests include:
• Leather craftsmanship & handmade design
• Philosophy and logic (especially Aristotle)
• Slow travel and local experiences
• Bonfires, stargazing, and soulful music
• Cooking simple meals with good company
• Learning about how people live, love, and think around the world
I’m always curious — and open to discovering something new through someone else’s lens.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music depends on the mood — some days it’s soulful Sufi or old-school rock, other days it’s indie acoustic or ambient sounds while I work on leather. I enjoy anything with depth, emotion, or a good story behind it.
I’m a big fan of thought-provoking films — especially ones that linger in your mind long after the credits roll. I love movies that mix philosophy, adventure, or raw human connection. Think The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Lunchbox, or even Interstellar.
When it comes to books, I’m drawn to anything that helps me understand life better — philosophy, creativity, and human behavior. I’ve explored thinkers like Aristotle (who inspired my Crown of Creation project), and I enjoy reading about logic, storytelling, and sometimes, just simple poetry.
If you’ve got a favorite song, film, or book that shaped your perspective — I’d love to hear about it!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most meaningful things I’ve ever created is a family-based treasure hunt called Crown of Creation. It’s more than just a game — it’s a handcrafted heirloom designed to bring parents and children together through storytelling, puzzles, and ancient logic.
The idea came during a difficult time in my life. I wanted to build something that helped families reconnect in a deeper way — beyond screens and distractions. So I designed a leather-bound book with archival canvas pages that teaches Aristotle’s laws of logic through a bedtime adventure. It includes real treasures like a silver coin, a symbolic ring, and hidden clues. It’s meant to be played by a mother, father, and child — sparking curiosity, critical thinking, and bonding.
Seeing families laugh, learn, and grow closer because of something I made — that’s been the most amazing and humbling experience so far.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m not a tech geek in the usual sense, but I’m deeply interested in how technology can support creativity, learning, and meaningful connection. I love exploring tools that help bring ideas to life — whether it’s design software, storytelling platforms, or simple tools that help me document and share my craft.
I’m always learning — from books, people, experiences, or even quiet observations. Whether it’s philosophy, craftsmanship, or human behavior, I believe there’s something to learn in everything if you pay attention.
And I love to share — not just things, but time, stories, and skills. If you’re interested in leather art, slow living, or building something meaningful from scratch, I’m always happy to exchange ideas and experiences.
The best part of travel and hosting is this: we each bring a piece of the world with us — and when shared, we all leave a little wiser.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer good company, deep conversations, and a curious mind that’s always ready to learn and exchange stories. I love talking about art, culture, philosophy, travel, and life itself — especially over tea or a shared meal.
As a leather artist, I can also share insights into traditional craftsmanship, creative projects, or even teach you how to emboss leather if you’re interested! I enjoy connecting over handmade things and the stories behind them.
Beyond that, I’m happy to help with cooking, cleaning, or anything that adds positive energy to your space. I travel with respect, gratitude, and the intention to leave behind a little more warmth than I found.
