About Me

Hi! welcome to my profile

I am an enginneering student from Turkey and currently co-president of the outdoor society of my university (Bilkent Outdoor Sports Society). I don't have many free time but when I have, I fill it with traveling or doing sports and sometimes going to a nice cafe to drink a cup of coffee and relax. In weekends (If I don't have any responsibilities) I mostly go to rock climbing, trekking camping or discovering places (museums, small towns, historical places) around Turkey. Well.. for bigger holidays like semester breaks or summer holidays, I am doing my best to leave my comfortzone and see the world.

When I am travelling, I want to discover new cultures new places and meet with new people. Thus, while traveling, instead of using houses only for acommondation I prefer hosts who can befriend with me and show me around... Oh, also for accomodation comfort is not my priority If it is safe to sleep, I can stay anywhere. I used surfing once this summer and I really liked it and I am looking forward for the next one.

I am currently staying at the Dorm and thus not able to host anyone at the moment but in summertime I am staying with my mom in Izmir and able to host couchsurfers. I have hosted many foreign student from my university last year. We went to many places go to rock climbing, beautiful beaches and most of the cultural places. I enjoyed my every second with them and I discovered that I love doing this kind of stuff. But I am still new to this community and haven't hosted any couchsurfers before.

I am a friendly, adventurous, responsible and open-minded person. I love animals, historical places, outdoors, learning new things and ofcourse I love having fun. I hope you'll enjoy my companionship.

Have a great day!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like most kinds of rock music but nowadays I am mostly into progresive rock. I have many favorite Bands, For rock classics I like Pink floyd, Camel, the Doors, Led Zeppelin a lot. I adore RHCP. I also deeply interested in Stoner Rock and Psychedelic rock bands like Radio Moscow and Stoned Jesus... Songs I listen to varies according to my mood

Book: I prefer reading science fiction and fantasy novels and sometimes popular science books. I like most of the Le Guin novels such as wizard of the earthsea series, Dispossessed. I am reading Plato's Republic at the moment and it is already one of my favourite books because I am enjoying when I catch a connection between Republic and other sci-fi books.
Also I spend most of my free times reading comics...Watchmen might be my favourite one. I used to read many marvel, Dc comic series few years ago. Beside the super hero comics, I really like Scott Pilgrim comics.

Films: I can watch anything depending on my mood. I like many popular cult films (but I don't want to write them one by one. If a movie is popular and a really good, you can assume that I like that movie). Beside the well-known cults, I like Captain Fantastic. Wes Anderson is one of my favourite director. I don't know why but I love his style and sense of humour. Whenever I have a chance, I love going local film festivals and watch few films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done and seen many amazing things when I am mountaineering or when I am drunk in festivals.. Speaking of mountaineering I had many epic moments and some near death experiences this year. Almost get smashed by giant falling rock, almost got thunderstruct few times when I was inside of a storm cloud... They are just a funny stories now.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach climbing, camping, swimming, turkish language, english ( if you are not fluent) teach how to make turkish coffee or other kinds of coffee or some basic local foods and for much more boring options engineering stuff: 3D design programs, coding, calculus, differential equations...

I am open to learn anything but if I have to be more precise, I want to learn some basic words of your language or some basic yoga moves. Also I always wanted to learn how to surf (the one you do with big waves not windsurf)

I can share my drink, my coffee, my beer or whatever I am drinking, my small adventures, something about myself.. I don't know I can share whatever you want.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A nice conversation (I'll try my best ) , can teach something, make some drawings, being a nice company or drinking buddy, being responsible, helpfull and friendly guest... I can make good coffee (I'll bring turkish coffee, various types of coffee with me and my aeropress )

Countries I’ve Visited
