ABOUT ME
French bloke, 33, studied in France (obviously) in engineering, then went for a thesis in Japan in geochemistry. Ensued a two-year unemployment lull, and I finally landed myself a job in Budapest, as a scientific adviser and part-time diplomat in the French embassy. Then a stint in nuclear decommissioning in France and Japan, and now back in Hungary as a freelance translator. Also worked in a grocery store and as an enameller in a jewellery shop.
I'm 1.80m high, chestnut-haired, Caucasian, blue-eyed but you can't see them because I wear glasses all the time that make my eyes look the size of an ant's brain, I look distant and shy and serious and emotionless (or so I've been told), but I'm really just kind, fun, witty, cynical and a bit shy.
(... I really shouldn't be the one writing this stuff. Try me and make up your mind.)
PHILOSOPHY
"Life's a bitch, and then you die"
"Life's a play and the world my stage"

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I usually host more than I surf, but both things have happened repeatedly.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: the occasional blockbuster, comedies provided a certain degree of witticism and humour noir, and movies so bad they come all the way around back to awesome.
Music: a lot. I am constantly listening to something and there are few things I like more than discovering new music. Right now, I guess I took a turn from metal, pop and rock to delve into 70's obscure bands, world music and post-rock. I still have time for death/viking/black metal, though. Can't forget my roots!
Books: let's just give titles of books that have really echoed with some deep part of me, in no specific order. Flowers for Algernon, Neverwhere, Au bord de l'eau (the Chinese tale of the 108 stars of destiny), I am legend, and probably some more stuff I really can't think of right now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Been in a Rocky Horror Show cast. Does that get me any points?
Teach, Learn, Share
Yeah, you do that.
Joke aside, I have a strong interest in languages and their connection, and I've been known to blabber about this. I've also been a language teacher. So ye be warned.
