About Me

I'm easy going, but I do like to push myself. I love meeting new people and getting to know them because they often inspire me. Likewise, I love learning and experiencing new things. This way I can understand and enjoy life in a deeper, more authentic way. People that are adventurous, thoughtful or creative usually catch my interest. If you are like that, we can have long conversations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet fun and interesting people and because I like hanging out with locals when going on vacations.

Interests

I have many interests. One of them is learning about the food, culture, history and nature of every country. I also like to do sports. I cycle everywhere and I train mixed martial arts. I enjoy going out too, because then I get to meet all kinds of interesting people!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost any kind of music, except for pop music. It really depends on the mood I'm in. When going out I like techno, house or jazz parties. Jaga Jazzist is my current favorite band.

I usually read non-fiction. Some of my favorites are The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, The Personal MBA by Josh Kaufman and How To Win Friends And Influence People by Dale Carnegie.

I prefer TV shows over movies, because there is more time for the story and characters to develop. They did that really well in Game of Thrones, so that's my favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I bicycled from Amsterdam to Paris, 100 km a day. It was fun: I saw so much and met many nice people on the way. On 2 nights I camped in the wilderness. This biking trip brought me closer to nature.

A close second would be scuba diving in the Red Sea. I was surrounded by life and colours. It allowed me to see nature in all it's splendour.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've given tours around Amsterdam. I know many restaurants, cafés, clubs, museums and I can tell much about the history of the city. I also like to stay up to date with events.

What I Can Share with Hosts

An abundance of positive energy. I help out, because I don't want to freeload. I bring some local Dutch specialties with me too, so tell me what you want to have. :)
