I am a lawyer, former teacher, cat parent, frequent traveler, and all around pretty like-able person. Early on in couch surfing history I lived in Shanghai, China and had an extra bedroom where I frequently hosted couch surfers. Once I moved back to the US my housing got much smaller and I hosted less frequently. Eventually, I allowed my account to go nearly dormant as I was neither able to host and was traveling to places where I already had accommodations with friends.

Sometime during my dormancy someone hacked my account. I’m not sure what they did with it exactly, but all my information disappeared other than my photo, and I had to go through the powers that be at Couchsurfing to reinstate my account.

Recently, I booked some travel to new places where I’m going to be traveling solo and I’d like to give couch surfing a try again. I’m hoping the community is as welcoming now as it was when I used it frequently from 2008-2010.
