Overview
About Me
I'm Hauke from Germany and I am cycling around the world. After my three years job training as a carpenter I made my dream come true, that I've had for seven years. Just my bicycle and me and all I need to live for maybe three years is in my bags. If you are interested in what I experience on my trip, follow me on Instagram @the.longest.way.home
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to meet knew and friendly people, that are open minded. It's part of my trip, to get in contact with local people to learn more about there cultures and "make the world a bit smaller".
Interests
I am very sport addicted, so before I left home for this journey, I was a "professional" Rock'n'Roll dancer (competitions), did a lot of Calisthenics and of course all about cycling is my passion!
- dancing
- calisthenics
- bikepacking
- carpentry
Teach, Learn, Share
This journey is perhaps a journey to my self too. I wanna make myself stronger, so I made this two sayings to my life philosophy:
1) "Nothing is to be feared, it's only to be understood." It doesn't make sense to be afraid of things in the future, because you don't know what will happen. Fear is actually irrational. Let's see, what's going to happen :))
2) "This too, will pass." This makes you keep on going in bad situations, because this too, will pass. On the other hand it reminds you to enjoy the good moments in life, because this too, will pass.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Sharing my experiences and my culture.
I've heard that guests are expected to bring a small present for one's host, but due to the very limited space in my bags, I won't bring something like wine bottles etc. Just that you know.
