About Me

CURRENT MISSION

You have to risk it to get the biscuit

ABOUT ME

I have grown up in 4 different countries and have always wondered where my home is. This has grown a fascination in diverse cultures and have taken me to travelling continously growing through the amazing people I meet on my paths. One day I want to be in my rocking chair, looking back contently nodding to my grankids as I look back at the life I have lived. I am fascinated by the Arts, alternative living spaces, abandoned buildings, nature and love to meet new people on my journey.

PHILOSOPHY

THe more I learn, know, see and experience the more I realize I know nothing. I am eager to grow in the amazingness of the world around and leave a positive impact on the world that has given me so much.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have sadly not had any expierences with couchsurfing as I have often known someone in the places I have visited or met people on my travels. I hope to change this as the community fascinates me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I sadly still have not directly had one as it often did not work out or I did not find someone who had time. But I have used it to meet locals in new cities I lived and there I met some great people whom I traveled with.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I am quite a wide listener of music in that I enjoy a lot of genres. I love records and slowly my collection of vinyls is growing with my favorite being Long Arm (great downtempo) and Cosmic Compositions (great hip-hop instrumentals sampling 60s Jazz).
At the moment Mall Grab, Dream Koala, Akumundra, Outtalectuals, Moderat, Mos Def, The Hundreds, Diverse trippy downtempo and electro are filling my ears on a regular basis. But I also relapse into jazz, blues and funk (e.g. Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock and muddy waters). I love the soundtrack of Amelie and blues brothers.

Movies:
I absolutely love the movie Amelie and thus have also found a small love for french movies.
Blue indigo
Snatch
Lock stock and two smoking barrels
Viktoria
Black Panther
Revolver
UP

Books:
I have been reading soo much non-fiction but I love
Lord of the flies
The politics of experience and the bird of paradise
Of mice and men
Animal Farm
King Lear
Any book on peace and conflict studies
Philosopy books
My heaven is a second hand book store. I spend ages in there smelling, reading and searching for books. I recently found some great old books that kinda made me esxcited

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The star ridden sky in the desert in Fish river canyon(namibia) the second largest canyon in the world. The moment where a meteortie shower began and in an hour or so 20 shooting stars where spotted. Another time where I was dumbfounded was when I talked to a monk in a monastery in Israel at the Sea of Galliea and was utterly amazed at this mans utter devotion to his faith. The mans deep wisdom made me feel shivers run down my spine.
Sitting in an abandoned hotel in Akko, Israel, While eating hummus with Pita and looking over the bay.
Randomly getting invited to a Sabbat dinner off the street and enjoying an amazing dinner with people I had never met before.
