ABOUT ME

Easy going, friendly and considerate. I enjoy travelling and meeting new people.

I love nature, being by the sea and outdoors, all wildlife and animals. Also like to party when the moment comes.

I'm a freelance user experience consultant, designer and researcher, innovating and improving online services and websites to be centred around the needs of the people using them.

PHILOSOPHY

People are not necessarily doing the right thing, but believe they're doing it for the right reasons. A former colleague advised me this to understand the organisation I was working at. I've been applying it to life and workplaces ever since.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I lived in Liverpool I hosted 2 people through couch surf and hosted a Christmas Dinner event for 13 people at my home in December 2011. It was a good experience and stayed in touch with many people. I've stayed with one host at a CS weekender in Bristol in 2015 and took part in events with locals and travellers. I also attend events locally with other couchsurfers.

I like to meet up with couchsurfers in different countries to share a drink or meal.

I'm now based at the coast in the North East near to Newcaste and have space to host again. I've a cat Nutmeg. She's a nutter and everyone loves her.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted 3 people through couch surf and hosted a Christmas Dinner event for 13 people at my home in December 2011.

I've been a guest with a host in Bristol for the CS weekender.

I meet couchsurfers for food, drink sharing local experiences in other countries.

I meet people and made friends through my local couchsurfing community.

Interests

Love to travel, scuba dive, walk and cycle. I volunteer as a marine mammal medic and volunteer with seals to rehabilitate them back into the wild. I do a lot of surveys for coastal marine life and beach litter to help collect data. I enjoy music, dancing, photography, wildlife and art. Chill out during evenings I enjoy cooking, fitness, meditation, hosting events. I like to get out and about at weekends walking, visiting new places, socialise with friends or visit family.

Music, Movies, and Books

All types of music, like live music and DJs including electronic, bands, ska, blues, reggae, folk, drum n bass and traditional world music. Books - I tend to read lot of non fiction but enjoy travel fiction, photography and art books. films - will watch anything from action thriller to pixar

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekking through worlds largest cave passage - Deer Cave in Borneo, millions of bats, huge mound of Bat Guano and the Garden of Eden

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share what i know about photography and nature . I can share the sea through snorkelling and scuba diving, I love to cook and can share how to cook great meals and bake. I make a great chilli, banana bread and Thai curry. I'm very creative, like to have a go at most things and fairly technical so can figure out computer / mobile related things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A blow up bed and couch in my living room, bedding, towels. Use of bathroom, shower, cups of tea, home baking and hugs from my crazy cat. I prefer people to at least arrive at weekend when I'm about as I work full time.
