ABOUT ME

I've held numerous jobs in my short time as an adult. I've been everything from a server to a cameraman to a farmer to a writer to an editor of a magazine to a bouncer/doorman. I've spent the last year getting some youthful craziness out of my system in L.A., and now it's time to move back home and save money in preparation for grad school.

I'm easy-going but independent. I can be quiet, but when I want to be I think I'm pretty damn fun to be around. Definitely an introvert by nature but I come alive in small groups.

Grew up with a stutter. It's the one aspect of my life that I can point to and say "That shaped who I am more than anything else."

My experience has inspired me to go back to school and become a speech pathologist. I think the empathy I'll have for patients will be an invaluable asset to them.

I've spent most of my adult life travelling instead of working on my career, now I'm ready to get to it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Traveling has been my main hobby for years now. I don't like staying in one place for too long, so I kind of gather me things and head off somewhere whenever I can. I've been to India, Africa, Central America and Europe. I want to go to Iceland and Alaska next.

I can see myself settling down somewhere soon, and when I do I'll for sure be hosting surfers. I can't think of a better way to meet new people from all over the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did some unofficial couch surfing in Santa Fe, NM when I drove out west last year and I had a great time with my hosts. I met them at a coffee shop and they took me and my friend in for the night without much hesitation when they heard we had slept in a parking lot the night before. Their generosity blew me away!

Now that I'm heading back east I thought I'd give it a try through the site.

I've WWOOFed before, which is a similar idea to couch surfing. I've never had a bad experience with a host in any context.

Interests

I read, I write, cook for myself, and play the drums on occasion. I've got a weakness for sports themed video games or anything to do with the NBA.
