About Me

Outgoing and adventurous. I took two years off to travel. I volunteered, couch-surfed, hitchhiked, rock climbed and tried to learn as much as possible.

I believe that if you exude happiness and kindness and it will be returned to you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started couchsurfing in Australia and found it to be the best way to get to know different cultures and experience a new place.

I love the community that couchsurfing creates and now it's time for me to give back. I returned to Boston a year ago and am "settled" so I'm opening my home up.

Interests

I love art and cultural activities, but chatting over coffee or a beer is sometimes the best activity.

I want to get to know people from different cultures and understand their challenges and joys. Differences in people is what makes the world an interesting place and any opportunity to understand others is rewarding.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now I'm really interested in books that give some insight into the places I've been or am planning to go. I just finished "The Good Earth" and have started reading "Sons" from the same trilogy. I also really liked Shantaram and Tracks. I'd love a book suggestion if you have a favorite.

I watch such a wide range of movies that it's hard to say anything meaningful here. I gravitate toward dramas and stupid comedies but tend to avoid romantic comedies. I find romantic comedies entertaining but prefer something with a little more substance if I'm going to sit still for a couple of hours. Stupid comedies don't offer substance but who can resist a good laugh?

I listen to a lot of alternative rock and mellow music but really anything besides heavy metal and hard core rap will usually keep me interested.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One? ! Hmm...quit a good job to see the world on my own terms. Quiting was the starting point for many other amazing things.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot of travel tips I've picked up along the way if you are looking to go somewhere I've been to I'm happy to share. I always like a good discussion about cultures, politics and amazing things you've done if you are up for it.
