Hey!

We're Hayden and Lilian from Australia and France. We're a couple who love travelling and meeting new people, both with an interest in adventure, and a hope of seeing as much of the world as we can!

I'm 20 years old and am on my way to France to live there. I was an exchange student in Sweden in 2014-2015 and can speak Swedish. For a year, I studied Islam and History at University in Australia, which I found really interesting and I learned a lot from it. I like to discuss many things about the international world and am really interested in human migration. I also like meeting people and enjoying good views, and my biggest belief is the idea of quality over quantity.

Lilian is 20 years old and is very interested in baking, drawing, meeting new people and exploring other countries and cultures! He works as a Pastry Chef where he works early mornings and has free afternoons, but in his free time he likes to be with his friends, watch Netflix and enjoys spending time with friends.

We both enjoy going out, staying in, and enjoying all aspects of life. On top of that, we want to work and live in other countries, and hopefully be able to travel every year. For us travelling is important because it gives you an understanding of not only the countries you're in, but also yourself which can improve all aspects of your life from relationships to the way you do things.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

In the past 4 months, we have collectively travelled around Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran, Oman, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Czechia, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Thailand, Andorra, Spain and France - and now our sights are set on Scandinavia!

Because we are both social people, we think to travel, you really need to meet people that live there. We like discussing the differences and similarities between countries, and learning new tips and tricks we can use for the rest of our lives (like the Swedish idea of Lagom!).

We think that Couchsurfing is a great way to have a connection with each country we're in, a souvenir worth far more than anything else.

I travelled around the Middle East following my University studies to see the contrasts and similarities in the Muslim world.

Lilian received the opportunity to work in Cairns as a part of his role as a pastry chef for the Hilton Hotel - working 16 hours a day for two weeks with no days off.
