Hi! My name is Hayden Shapiro. I'm 22 years old and I'm looking to have some new experiences, meet new people, and learn some things along the way.

I love to spend my free time pursuing my interests. Currently I'm focused on learning more about e-commerce and getting hands on experience starting a business. When I have a moment to unwind my favorite thing to do is push around on my skateboard and explore the area. I've recently discovered the joys of brazillian jui jitsu and I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to challenge myself and learn from others. I love sciences and I find natural systems fascinating. I plan to gain experience practicing permaculture methods and learning more about ecology and mycology in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If you look at my interests you'll find "novelty" on the list. Never have I had such an experience and I'm certainly somewhat anxious, but with novelty comes interest! (at least for me)

This seems like a neat way to travel and meet interesting people. I'm hoping I can meet new friends in new places!

I'm currently in the process of looking for a place to relocate. North Idaho's long winters are starting to get a little stale and I'm hoping for a little more sunshine in my life. By couchsurfing, I can meet locals and learn more about the culture of the area. Sounds pretty cool to me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of hip hop! I like the kind of music that you listen to and can't help but groove. I've recently discovered I really like some older rock too! I can appreciate most music!

Reading has always been a bit of a challenge for me! I tend to be somewhat scatter brained and inefficient while reading, but when I'm not I enjoy reading Stephen King and Chuck Palahniuk. I'm currently reading Stephen King's The Dark Tower series and I'm on the final book! I'd say this series has been my very favorite.

I'm terrible at watching movies. If a movie is truly fantastic, I can be drawn into it, but I struggle to sit still for much longer than one hour.

I enjoy listening to podcasts when I can. Some podcasts I enjoy include: The Joe Rogan Experience, The Tim Ferris Show, Ear Hustle, and Ear Biscuits.
