Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Hayden, I'm 25, from Sydney and am lucky enough to occasionally get the chance to fit in a bit of travel. My extended family live in Croydon in England so when I take my mum over I get the chance to have a look around Europe. I love meeting people who are really committed to getting swept up in those magical moments that come about from nothing or a small gesture. I believe in good things and that good people attract other good people. I'm an architect and am inspired by learning about the variety of human existence, and the way we all have formed our own response to the world. I'm currently in my final year in my Masters of Architecture degree in the Social Agency Stream where we are understanding the capacity of societies in urban contexts to become resilient to natural disasters through strengthening their social assets as much as their physical assets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because I've been backpacking through Europe and South-East Asia and have always stayed at hostels and occasionally, hotels. But the more I travel, the more I find it so important to really connect with people wherever I'm staying and I don't always get it in the traditional ways. I think Couchsurfing is a fantastic idea to share experiences and stories with like minded people who really understand that the worold is really connected.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm really into mellow and melodic music like Deep House. I'm currently into Lane 8, Kidnap Kid, and anything from the Anjunadeep Label.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My favourite moment has got to be earlier this year getting the opportunity to travel to a small village in the outskirts of Phnom Penh in Cambodia to help build a sustainable bamboo village for some of the most unfortunate families that are well below the line of poverty. What made that trip more amazing is that in the year leading up to the trip, I participated in the university project that determined the design and implementation
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some basic skills but endless enthusiasm in the kitchen! I'm quite handy and can fix or build most things around the house. I love sharing a good boogy or chilling out to some amazing tunes; I think I've got the right tune for every occasion.
