About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Currently I'm travelling through Japan with my girlfriend, Anna.

ABOUT ME
I'm relaxed, fun, easygoing, things like that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used the site a lot when I was 18 and travelling around. It helped me meet many wonderful people. Now, a few years later, I'm curious to meet such great people again. The site is a fantastic initiative!:)

Interests

I like sports, especially surfing, running, bouldering, rock climbing, and hiking. I have been scuba diving quite a bit. The last summers, I spent my holidays surfing in France, Spain, or Portugal. Back home in Amsterdam, I'm bouldering often. Trail running always fascinated me - I'm keen to take it up soon! In the spring, I want to start free diving. Recently, I have been emerging myself in music, learning to play the guitar and bass guitar.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music interests are indie rock, electronic, and reggae. I just read a few of Paul Theroux's travel books. I'm currently into Marakami! I also keep coming back to reading Marcus Aurelius. I like all of Richard Linklater's films, and I am a big fan of Andrey Tarkovsky.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few years ago, I worked as a scuba diver in the marine national park of St Eustatius, in the Dutch Caribbean, researching coral reef restoration. It was amazing to work in such a beautiful ecosystem and be out in the sea every day.

Teach, Learn, Share

Interested in a lot of things! Always keen to learn more about arts, sports, books, and films. Recently, I'm becoming more interested in learning more about making music.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge about my work field: climate change and how we may adapt to it. I can also teach you about scuba diving! Besides that, I can show you some Dutch cuisine, and teach you the basics of playing the guitar and bass guitar.
