About Me

Believer. 25. Born blonde. Better brunette. Photographer. Music aficionado. Film freak. Internet addict. Foodie. Drinkie.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've lived a quarter of a century, and I still live in the town where I grew up. Call it debilitating provencialism, if you will, but I call it student loan debt.

I don't hate conventional lodging, but one time I caught a news story where they showed how filthy hotel rooms are, and the toilets were cleaner than the TV remotes. I haven't stayed in a hotel room since.

Also. I love to learn. As an autodidact, I am always on the search for a new skill to pick up or someone to learn something from. I find that the majority of people who put worldly possessions and monetary gain above the opportunity to connect with another human being, quite frankly, less appealing.

Interests

I love, and in no particular order, Katy Perry, acorns and thimbles, Star Wars, brand new socks, Coors Light, bouquets of freshly sharpened number 2 pencils, Siberian Huskies, chai tea lattes, Mary Poppins and Julie Andrews, vintage video games, Bar K Wrangler Camp, vinyl records, sushi, collecting cameras, Labrador Retrievers, photography, Harriet the Spy, dirty words, and shooting pool.

Dusty old books, Jim Halpert, running yellow lights, Neverland, big and shiny belt buckles, Bon Iver, automatic car washes, Jamie and Claire Fraser, playing guitar, Golden Retrievers, writing, abandoned buildings, Jennifer Lawrence, empty composition notebooks, Drop Dead Gorgeous, picnics on truck tailgates, Miranda Lambert, Ariel’s ability to keep her red hair luscious and beautiful even after being completely immersed in saltwater her entire life, mermaid magic in general, and old high school yearbooks.

To Kill A Mockingbird, Vanilla Coke, Lord of the Rings, Madi Diaz, dogs in general, Quentin Tarantino films, Queen and Freddie Mercury, Silver Dollar City at Christmastime, engraved leatherbound Bibles, Nana’s gambretti, Waylon Jennings, old Polaroids and expired film, Tina Fey, my vintage Justin boots, puppy breath, and Peter Pan.

Even numbers and multiples of five, Nancy Botwin and Celia Hodes, cooking and grilling and roasting and baking and food, Sturgill Simpson, the smell of freshly cut grass in the summertime and the smell of cold air and petrichor in the winter, Jesus, etymology and lexicology, 30 Rock, traveling and far away places, Pride and Prejudice, and retro photobooth strips.

Grammy’s farm in Stockton, Lennon and Maisy, camping, Orange Is The New Black, driving with the windows down, flea markets and thrift stores, Fleetwood Mac, napping in front of the fireplace, baseball stadium hot dogs and also baseball, crab ran-frickin-goon, The Muppets, very very very fine pointed pens, Prince, taking the scenic route home every now and then, The Walking Dead, and you.

Probably.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived brain surgery, once.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not rich, by any means, but I have a wealth of crazy, hilarious stories. I make a mean homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese dinner. I always share my beer. And, I am quite generous when it comes to splitting the check.
