I grew up in Richmond Virginia and Ann Arbor Michigan. I moved to Boston for college and lived there for about 10 years. My husband and I recently moved to Richmond Virginia. I am a proud teacher at Falling Creek Middle School, a diverse urban school outside of Richmond. I love working with young people and have a strong commitment to social justice work.

Music, Movies, and Books

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Hope for the Flowers, Life of Pi, Dreams from My Father, Casa de los Espiritos are some of my favorites books. I love all music hip hop, bluegrass, folk, world, jazz. I don't have a favorite movie but I think the original Stars Wars trilogy is pretty great.
