About Me
NOTE: I live in Philadelphia, I do not live in Colombia
I'm an American guy with a penchant for traveling. I was born in Philly and raised in Rochester NY. My first Couchsurfing experience was in Bethlehem, Palestine in 2016. I was hosted by a Canadian guy named Walter and I learned a ton from him about what it means to be a great host. I loved the concept of Couchsurfing and decided that I would continue to be a part of this great community.
Before embarking on my own travels, I've hosted surfers in Philadelphia, PA and San Miguel de Allende, GTO, Mexico. It was always an incredible experience. Sadly I have observed that the quality of CS has gone down substantially since the pandemic, but I still think there are great people that make it worth sticking around.
I have been splitting time between the US, Latin America, and Europe for the last few years. Mostly living out of Airbnbs/hostels and not able to host during that time. When I wrap up my travels in the next year or so I will get back to it. I'm currently working on a PhD in climate statistics. In my spare time I like to play beach volleyball and try new restaurants. I'm interested in learning how to surf as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy bringing other people into my home and showing them my city from my perspective. Likewise, it is nice to see other's perspectives on the places that they live. I try to travel whenever possible. I keep a map of every place that I have ever been and update it whenever I see somewhere new, even if it is just a small village.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I grew up in the northeast of the United States but have traveled and done volunteer work in some places that are very different from there. Some of the most interesting were Irbid (Jordan), Nairobi, rural Honduras, and Bethlehem in the West Bank. Currently I work online and in 2021 I moved to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico as a digital nomad and spent the first half of 2022 traveling around central and southern Mexico.
