About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am constantly aspiring to channel my inner spirit animal: the majestic and elusive great white shark.
ABOUT ME
I am very serious about not taking anything seriously.
I'm just another girl from Northern California who sucks at driving. I make really good grilled cheese sandwiches. I collect tea (and drink it as often as I can). I reread the Lord of the Rings trilogy as often as I can. I'm an awesome thumb wrestler. And I eat Chinese food about twice a week.
In all seriousness though, I'm 24, and I graduated with degrees in History and Humanities/Religious Studies from Sacramento State. Currently I'm in San Jose attending a master's program for Library Science & Information, and working as an elementary school librarian. The most extroverted librarian you'll ever meet! My boyfriend lives in London, so I travel to England quite frequently. It's my dream in life to own a used bookstore with a bar in the back and quiet reading spaces and local art everywhere.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that there are certain things in life that can heal any wound, turn around any day, and cause you to stop and appreciate it all. Those things are: a good beer, literature, a nap, tacos, huge pots of tea, and uncontrollable laughing with your friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed in Germany, France, and Ireland - all amazing experiences!
In Florence, we hosted a Belgian guy for over a week and he was the sweetest. Besides that, I haven't done any hosting. Maybe in California!
Interests
Feminism, used bookstores, cheap beer, gummi bears, naps, quoting Lord of the Rings at inappropriate times, looking at pictures of sharks, collecting maps, San Francisco baseball, Jack Kerouac, Elvis dance parties, throwing my alarm clock across the room.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Lord of the Rings, Peter Pan, Fight Club, E.T., Atonement, Harry Potter, Hocus Pocus, Star Wars (the original trilogy), Into the Wild
Music: Bob Dylan, Brand New, Jeff Buckley, Neutral Milk Hotel, Cold War Kids, and tons of others. I love scores and soundtracks, especially Fellowship of the Ring and E.T.
Books: Lord of the Rings, The Subterraneans (I'm obsessed with Kerouac), Lord of the Flies, Pride and Prejudice, anything by Edith Wharton or John Steinbeck, Harry Potter, Rebecca. I'm currently really interested in James Baldwin. I've been known to dabble in Vonnegut every now and again.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
First off, the year I lived in Florence, Italy will forever be the most amazing, memorable, crazy, fun year of my life!
I visited the Acropolis, and laid down on the marble, and let the immensity of it's history wash over me.
I got a hammam in Morocco. It was traumatic, but I'll never forget it.
Plitvice Lakes, Croatia. There are no words.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to be perfect.
Or I can just share music and books and deep conversations with you.
I'm pretty alright at making an American breakfast. I can never get the eggs right though.
