About Me

Greetings! I am a born and raised traveller. I started small, camping all over the western United States and visiting National Parks. I took it upon myself in my teenage years to find opportunities to travel outside the country and have been trying to explore the world ever since. I love to visit the outdoors and feel most comfortable in nature, though I still try to spend a couple days trekking around a city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started couchsurfing with my friend in 2012 and have couchsurfed with her using her account a couple of times. I decided to create my own account and start couchsurfing after having met numerous amazing people with her. Couchsurfing lets you experience a place from a locals' perspective and often takes you to places you never would have gone before.

Interests

Outdoors: hiking, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling
History and Archaeology
Books: big, small, any shape or size
People: I love meeting new people, especially from different areas of the globe who can tell me about their lives.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are fantasy. I am particularly in love with The Name of the Wind Series by Patrick Rothfuss right now, though I often fall back on the staples of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.

My favorite movies are comedies. I especially love off-beat ones, like Little Miss Sunshine and Death at a Funeral.

My music taste is really eclectic and ranges from folk tunes to electronic dance music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I trekked through the jungle in Sumatra, it involved peeling numerous leeches off my legs and kissing a monkey.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people a bit about archaeology and prehistoric human history. Not all archaeology is Indianna Jones style.
I love to learn about local food and myths/legends. I think it is really fun to compare stories with people from around the globe.
I can share some American games, like paper football and card games.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach people some American slang and games. I know a lot of card games and am always up to learn new games!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, Mongolia, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Peru, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan

Countries I’ve Lived In
