I am based in Chicago where I perform and teach circus arts for a living. I came to the midwest for college and never left, but I'm definitely a southerner at heart. I'm fond of anything you can do outdoors, vegetarian cooking, and social dance of all types.

I am a practicing Buddhist and this plays a large part in my life, in everything from what I choose to do, and how I interact with people around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I got into CS when I travelled to Scotland where I had several wonderful hosts and have since met many fun people as a community member here in the US.

Interests

I love being outdoors, especially hiking and rock climbing in my native Blue Ridge Mountains. Dance is a huge part of my life, as well as practicing aerial silks and trapeze. I also love cooking and baking, arts and crafts, and anything else that keeps my hands and brain busy.

If I sit still for too long I start bouncing off the walls (main reason why I don't want a desk job).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love bad action films, basically anything that goes boom keeps me entertained. I also enjoy Miyazaki films and Pixar. I listen mostly to folk, blues, and I love groups who feature women singers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got bitten by a monkey while traveling in India (not so amazing).
I performed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
I've worked on an equestrian farm in North Carolina for quite a few years of my life, learning about farming and living organically.
I am training all circus arts with a focus on doubles aerial arts—I love being high up in the air.
