Hey, my name is Hayley; Sandboe and I am currently traveling through Central and South America. I have met so many travellers who have had amazing experiences through couch surfing that I have decided to give it a try.
I am from a small farming town around Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada; which is in Northern Alberta, so it is very cold. This Central American temperature has been a massive improvement!

Although I am from a small town, travelling has been a part of my life since I was a child. My sister and I sat around the dinner table while listening to travel stories from my parents; whether they were chilling out on an island, getting ripped off in India, or picking up hitchhikers in Israel, my parents stories never ceased to fuel my desire to get out and see the world
. I have always been interested about different people and their cultures. I believe that there is no better way to learn about what a country has to offer than talking to locals.
I am also curious about couch surfing and how it will positively affect my experience in a country. (Plus it is so exciting to try something new!)

A little bit about myself:
I love to be active and try new things. My life has been filled with activity and I have a passion for sports. I played many sports throughout high school and then continued on to play university rugby through my early to mid twenties.
Teaching is another one of my passions; I am a physical education and English teacher in Canada, although I am currently not teaching because I decided that I needed to see more of America.
I also love to travel. I grew up in a very travel-oriented family, so travelling has been a part of my life since I was a child. I love the unique experiences that travelling promotes through meeting new people, trying new foods, witnessing different ways of life, and pushing your own boundaries.
So far on this trip, I have been in Central America for two months. Throughout this time, I have been through Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and am continuing to work my way South. I have also been lucky enough to travel South East Asia, Egypt, Cuba, and Australia in the past.
