About Me
My goal right now is to complete a rollerblading marathon in under 2h30 by the end of the summer. Maybe then I'll treat myself to a new pair of freestyle skates! I'm not built for speed, but the style is there.
I'm just got laid off from my corporate job (it got me through the pandemic!) and am looking for something new and interesting. Maybe carpentry? Generally doing my best to divorce my sense of self from my job/career.
I love meeting new people; playing volleyball, basketball, and pickleball; cooking; hosting; skiing and snowboarding; and many, many more things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In the fall of 2014, after an incredible (and financially irresponsible) jaunt around eastern Europe with a good friend, I arrived in Marseille, France with barely any money and no place to stay. Someone mentioned couchsurfing to me, and I took the plunge. I was lucky enough to stumble upon a wonderful group of guys who were super generous and all-around awesome; we had so much fun I stayed with them for a month. Then when I got my own place, I was delighted to be able to host a few surfers who came through. I met some amazing people and had a great time of it.
Living situations over the past few years haven't permitted me to host, unfortunately, but I'm hoping to get back into it soon!
I love hosting and showing off my digs, whether it be family, friends, or randos coming through, and when I'm traveling I love getting a local's personal perspective. Makes the place feel real rather than a vacation destination :) I've met enough couchsurfers to know that they're mostly awesome, generous people, and I can't get enough of them!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love sci-fi and fantasy. Some of my faves are The Left Hand of Darkness, The Broken Earth Trilogy, and Dune.
LIZZO is my favorite artist, and I'm no longer embarrassed to say that Justin Bieber is up there too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As a ski instructor, I taught four 7-year-old beginners to ride the j-bar all the way to the top of the slope in less than 2 hours. That felt pretty amazing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a great cook! Mostly plant-based :D
